LETS TALK MARIJUNUA

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

THE MARIJUNUA DEBATE CONTINUES
It seems that the Medical Marijunua issue is still on the table. With people forming groups once again, to lobby in favor of making Marijunua legal ( for medical reasons of course ) . Some famous people have even come forward to help lobby in favor of the issue. Among them (and in the middle of it all ) is Montel the famous talk show host. Lobbying his little heart out with a group of followers standing behind him.
I personally think they should go ahead and do it. But then I think that all illegal drugs shoud be made legal. Why you say -- because if it were legal there would probably be less violence , deaths , and robbing of other people to get the money to buy it. In fact , I'm sure of it. But that will never happen because it's to big a business just the way it is.
You know I heard many years ago that the government in most countries had thier hand in the drug import, export business and I firmly believe it and if you don't you are more sinile then I am.
And that is the number one reason why it will never be legalized. It's just to lucrative a business , for those at the top of the drug chain.
So what do you believe ? Do you believe it should be legalized or not ?
YES or NO and why ?

I can see the pros and cons to both sides of legalizing weed. Personally, I defiantly agree it should be legal to use for medical reasons such as treatment for cancer - helps with the chemo side affects. As far as legalizing it for recreational use, I don't know about that.

Of course when something is "taboo" such as drinking before age 21 in the US, then of course kids want to do it. In other countries where there is a lower drinking age, statistics show that alcohol is not nearly as abused as it is here in the United States.

I agree with you that drugs are a lucrative business, but then again so is cancer. I mean if you think about all the great medical advances in the last say 50 years, don't you find it hard to believe that a cure for cancer still doesn't exist? There are so many people with cancer now that I think it's more about the money than finding the cure sometimes. I mean why make something "go away" that is so lucrative to business? Think about it. They spend more time finding drugs to HELP with cancer than to cure it. The HELP drugs just mean more $$$ so maybe I am cynical, but I feel if they really wanted to cure cancer they could...but they fail to do that because cancer is "good for business".

I think they should legalize it by all means! What harm does it do anyway? Nobody dies from DUI of pot! Many times you can't even tell if a person has been smoking it. It got outlawed in the first place b/c of hemp rope! The cotton rope makers had hemp outlawed to run out their business! Everything is about $$ you can believe that.

I'm totally in favor of legalizing all of the drugs that are currently illegal. This is partially because of the economic side of it that exseno brings up, but also because ownership of one's body should be the primary right from which all other rights flow. If I have no say as to which substances I may put into my body, why should I have any say as to how I may lead any other aspect of my life?
BTW I AM NOT ADVOCATING THE USE OF DRUGS.
I use caffeine regularly and occasionally some alcohol, and have rare occasion to have a prescription medicine I must take.
If someone told me, as during alcohol Prohibition, that I may not have a beer now and then, that would not have good consequences.
Peace,
Tor

make the damn drugs legal.
For god's sake, it is practically impossible to get PRESCRIPTION drugs at an affordable price.
Maybe legalizing cocaine wil make it MORE expensive and then rehab will be cheaper for everyone.

I have to go with the majority. I thought it should be legal long before it was fashionabole to dare voice that opinion very loudly.

Shirazi,
I beg to differ with you on that. People always want the unatainable. What is taboo is always intreging. But for myself the reason I want it to be legal is people that want it are going to get it anyway so this way they won't be having to slip down some ally to catch some drug dealer. There will be less people getting hurt/killed over the stuf. I smoke cigarettes and frankly I think they're more hamful then marijunua, and they're legal.
But I'm addicted - and so are they.
Sad, but true.
The only restriction that I would
put on them is if they became legal is that driving under the influece would be illegal.

by the way welcome and come back anytime, I like your site.

ok. make it legal I say and why make it to wear you can't smoke pot and drive? Come on, I remember and so does everyone else that I know and grew up with. That while you are driving while smoking pot. you don't even reach the speed limit because 25 mpi feels like it is 80mpi. come on think about it. you get the best rest you ever had in your life . your more mellowed out. You can actually slow down enough to think and the best sex you ever have in your life is when you are stoned because of the ability to relax and chill out. yep I am all for pot and if it wasn't illegal I would be stoned everytime you looked at me. AS it is how ever it is not legal and my job in the public doesn't not allow that type of behavior. *dang it* {heheeh}. anyway the government has no way to tax it that is thier main concern how to keep control of something leagal and tax the hell out of it. as it is they get all the money they want from it without haveing to show for it.oh wait I am sorry they launder the money back into the system and make it legal. they know what they are doing and it is the perfect set up for them. oh well enough of that from me before I really step off into it.... LOL

Hi Misfittoy,
Yes I agree with that if nothing else it should be used as a perscription drug.
I think some of the thrill would go away if it were legal for the younger people anyway and thos who want it are going to get it anyway.

It's good to hear from you, I stopped coming to your site because for some reason everytime I did my java script would go off and I couldn't figure out why. I miss visiting it.I'll try again sometime and see if it still happens. Strange isn't it??
