Based on that definition, I take it he was in essence the father of blogging?
The vast majority of us bloggers fit that definition. In that sense we have given him his final salute and tribute....

What nonsense--gonzo journalism is about Thompson a jerk that took drugs and eventually shot himself in the head because he was a whiny filthy hippy. He was a jerk to Nixon and Kissinger described him best a a baboon that could not string together a grammatically correct sentence!
