LOOK, LISTEN AND COMMUNICATE

How observant are we when it comes to our children, are we just to bussy to notice?
Do we think it is just a phase-- or is it that we just don't give a damn anymore as long as they stay out of our way and don't get into trouble..

Well maybe this lady needs to take another look around the room because I think 'TROUBLE', may be just around the corner.

We all love our children -- but how many of us talk to our children? How many of us know how to communicate in a way that will make them hear us? And (and this is a big and)
How many of us listen to them, I mean really listen, when they talk to us??
If you don't listen to what they say now, the next time it might be what they are 'not' saying that's important. Think about it.

I talk to my children all the time, and by children I mean Brutus and Maya. :-D
I hope and pray I'll be a good mom one day!

This is one of the things I hated about my childhood that I heard from my parents:

"Do as I say, not as I do!"

I personally try to practice what I preach to my own children....

I can relate to that. I won't bash my parents. I think they did a good job at raising me, however...

notice I didn't use "but" EXSENO ;)

However, my Mom hardly ever listened to me. My Dad was pretty much out of touch with what was going on with me and my sisters, so I sort of expected him not to see things, but my Mom I thought would pick up on stuff. Hard to explain on here. Not going to get into a lot of detail, but when I was middle school/jr high age, I had some problems that the only people that seem to pick up on were my peers.

Adults, teachers, even my own Mom I could totally fool and say I'm fine when it wasn't the case at all. I was too embarrassed and scared and just worried how it would affect her and how she would view me after if I had let her know how I was feeling. So yeah, parents don't see things even when all the signs are right in their face.

I can see how that could happen. May parents didn't listen either, that's exactly why I did and still do.
and then sometimes a parent does know what's going on but doesn't say anything trying to respect a teens privacy. It's very hard to sit back and watch and hope everything will be alright. It can be a scary time for the teen and the adult.

I guess "work at home" could possibly have something to do with the post...

Excellent point, Exsene! I wish more parents would listen more and set a good example because actions do speak louder than words.

Well I can say one all the things on that pic that I can tell you. I do have plans of bombs but not for school take overs, do have a facination on hitlers military tactics not his views on one breed of humans, and I do have a list of people I would like to kill. But I could never go insane and do it. I always had a strong mind and words never hurt me. Except when people think I'm gay cause you know I am raised by you and ma' so of cours I get a little femminen touch to my life. But am straight as a board! That is all..... *thinks* TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION!!!!. roflmao.
