CAFFEINATED FOOD, WHAT'S NEXT ?

Scientist develops caffeinated doughnuts Fri Jan 26, 7:40 AM ET

DURHAM. N.C. - That cup of coffee just not getting it done anymore? How about a Buzz Donut or a Buzzed Bagel? That's what Doctor Robert Bohannon, a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon says he's developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.

I can't imagine why, but to each his own?

Ah HA! Now I can drive to work, get my buzz and not arrive with a coffee stain on my shirt.
WOW! Why didn't I think of that? I should have thought of water in a bottle, too!

Not a bad idea but I'll stick to my two cups of coffee every morning. It's my "me" time. Plus, to me, there is nothing like a good cup of coffee.

Gina,
Good idea, but with my luck, I'd choose a jelly donut and have a big blog of rasberry on my blouse by the time I got to where I was going.

Doesn't sound bad at all! However, I'm not so sure I can give up on the liquid intake that coffee provides me with. Besides the dough nut will also mean a lot more sugar consumed!

Lisa Francisco,
You'll get it in these donuts, they're not taking anything out of our good donuts they're just adding caffein to them.
But I do agree with you on food in general, our government is putting much to much focus on what we eat. I'm skinny and I don't want to be punished for or limited to what I eat or where I choose to eat. I feel extremely strong on the subject of food and my freedom of choice.
I see it sliping away and I highly resent it. All I can think of is that not enough people are writing to their representitives to complain and strongly complain that our individual rights are being taken away because of some.
