TWO WEEKS

Only two weeks and it's all over but the crying. But who will be crying?

I still can't figure that one out. No matter what the poles say or what the map shows I think it could go either way. Simply because I feel like there will be a lot of problems (ya right problems, ha ha) with those darn voting machines.

I want a paper ballet. I wish there was some way that if a person insisted upon it, they could refuse to use the machines. I don't trust them and I don't trust the way that they can be tinkered with.

I have diligently watched the television every night since this campaign started. To learn as much as I could about each candidate and become as well informed as possible so that I could feel confident in the decision that who ever I decided to vote for would be the best one for the task before them. And during this time I do believe that I have come to one, and only one decision.

They are both crazy!

Yes, that has to be it. McCain and Obama, Obama and McCain are both nutty as fruit cakes. Crazy as 'Betsy Bugs' as the old sayings go.

With all that has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen for a very long time, who in their right mind would want to be the President right now.

Would you? Oh, come on, say yes and I'll stick you up there with Obama and McCain, in the Loony bin.

First of all Obama, although I think is a very intelligent and a ambitious young man, doesn't really have the longest political history to qualify him for the Presidency. He talks a good talk but I think he is going to need a lot of help from his fellow politicians, because all of the good intentions in the world are not going to get it here and he can't just go to his ranch every time there is a crises like Bush did because I don't think he has a ranch to go to. So God help us, I hope he is a fast learner.

McCain, on the other hand has many years of experience, but when I saw him get up and start walking around on the stage at the first debate all I could think of was, my God this man can hardly walk across the room.
I couldn't help thinking that if something should happen to him that leaves us with Palin and frankly I think she put the 'L' in the word Loony. So if she should by some unfortunate situation have to take over as President our only hope is that they quickly find some reason to impeach her and put someone else in there immediately. Anyone at all pleeeeese.

No matter which one gets it, they are not going to be able to fix what is going on in the United States. I haven't seen either one of them holding a magic wand.
Our economy is in the crapper and all the promises in the world are not going to fix it. Certainly not in the first four years, and I don't think a second term is going to do it either. But they both sure make it all sound good don't they.
So why do they want it so badly is it a power trip or are they both just plain crazy. Could be both? You decide.

I think the only reason either one of them got this far is because no one else in their right mind wants it. Well, almost no one.

Poor old Hilary. I feel her pain.

nice post exseno! Been here after really long!

You think Hillary cld have made a difference? In some dumb way, i think that of all 3, she is the only one who could have done anything to clear this mess. But you're right.. this mess will take much longer than 4 years to clean up...

Too little information, too much propaganda.. thats global news media for you.

yes it will take longer than 4 years to clean the mess up , but I think Obama will give it his best. As for mccain, I have no faith in the "mini bush" what so ever.

How do we know,
I certainly think that Hilary has the knowledge and the intelligence to be a good President, but sadly she doesn't have a magic wand either. I would have voted for her.
The scandal with Bill Clinton shouldn't have been a scandal at all. It wasn't a political thing it should have been kept private and personal between him and Hilary. Just like John Kennedy's affair with Marilyn Monroe was at the time.

Life Of An Emt,
Well all we can do is wait and see who wins the election. Some are saying that the poles and the map that shows Obama ahead of the game are not right.
But what I really fear is that those darn voting machines are going to be tampered with. Lot's of people didn't want Bush for a second term but he sure won that second term didn't he. He won in Florida where his brother was govoner and where people who were democrats recieved phone calls threating them to stay away from the poles. So Bush got the electoral vote from Florida didn't he.

I agree with you that anyone who wants to be prez is crackers! You can already see the stress! Remember how fast Bill and George Jr. went gray? Obama is going gray already!
To be fair to McCain the gimps are from being tortured as a prisoner of war, not just age...
Still...
I can't think of a tougher job and it is a LOT of hard work. Heck, I am exhausted and all I am doing is watching them! More power to (both of) them, because I certainly wouldn't want the job!

Shannon,
I wrote this post a while back and put it in save for a desperate moment and for a little levity but I think everyone is taking it seriously.
The thought did cross my mind when I wrote about McCain if the way he walked was because of all that he endured as a prisoner.
Even if I don't agree with him on some of his issues I have to say that I have always admired him for many reasons. His long service to his country and God Bless him I don't know how he endured such a long time as a prisoner. Can you imagine five years of being tortured. He is really quite a man.

Yeah, those polls are always faulty. I can't wait for this crap to be over and done with!

All that house flipping people did is why we are in this predicament, that and people buying houses that they couldn't afford. I know lenders made it seem so appealing to them, by giving them affordable payments with no interest, but it's their fault for not reading in between the lines. If you make 100,000 a year you could probably afford a house 3 times your salary, not five times like these people did! Yeesh! We're just so addicted to buying things on credit in this country. What happened to saving money to buy things instead of financing? Greed and materialism are ugly things.
