MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

An American Baptist Minister and Civil-Rights Leader.
Quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.

“There is no justification without sanctification, no forgiveness without renewal of life, no real faith from which the fruits of new obedience do not grow.”

“Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”

“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and consciencious stupidity.”

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically... Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.”

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”

“Faith is permitting ourselves to be seized by the things we do not see.”

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.”

“Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'”

“In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

Martin Luther King, Jr., a peace loving nonviolent man who only wanted equality for his people, yet violence followed him everywhere.
Sadly he was assassinated on April 4, 1968 . He never got to see his efforts materialize to their fullest. Known for his famous speech
"I Have A Dream". He would be proud today.

Leaders who are courageous visionaries often are not truly appreciated during their lifetimes. I wish the work started by Dr. King had advanced further after his death, but we always have hope.

Frankly I think it advanced tremendously. It's not perfect but it's amazingly better then it was in his day. I'm sure he has a smile on his face in heaven.

Thank you for you comment, good to have you come by.
