GUESS WHO CAME TO DINNER

Well one more holiday has come and gone. Thank God it's over. No I'm not being sarcastic, that's what all the cooks think they just don't say it out loud.
Let's face it, for the one in charge of pulling it off it's still a chore, especially if you're the only one doing all of it. Even if you like to cook the holiday pressure is on, there's the menu to plan which of course has to include a turkey on Thanksgiving. The preparation, the cooking blah, blah, blah, you know the senario.
I do have to laugh about the turkey though, when we were shopping my daughter picked a turkey up and it was not much bigger than a chicken and I laughed and said just that, so in her rebellion she picked up another and said O.K. this is the one we are getting. It was huge and I tried to get her to put it back but she wouldn't hear of it.

We are a small family and there is never more here for the holidays then the four of us unless one of them drags someone home with them, and that's extremely rare, so no need for a 24lb. turkey, I mean I can eat but not that much. But the time had arrived for me to do my thing so I cooked up a storm, you know we all do it. The turkey, dressing, all the trimmings and of course let us not forget desserts.

My daughter had to work, what a bummer, especially for her sons sake and I would miss her sneaking up behind me picking at things that were ready before I was ready to put them on the table, but then there would be so much left over that we could just pretend like it was Thanksgiving again tomorrow, and let me not forget to mention that the night before Thanksgiving, my son informed me that he had to leave for a two day job in Alabama. "What?"

So who showed up for dinner -- no one. So are you thinking why did I do it? why didn't I just wait until they both got back home and have a late holiday dinner?
Well I did it upon request. I had one dinner guest that would be there who wanted to celebrate on time just the two of us and I must say I was glad that we did it. We enjoyed each others company and the fun of having this special day together. We talked and laughed and ate, in fact we pigged out. He was the perfect gentleman and when it came to the dessert, he insisted on serving me. We both love pumkin pie so there always has to be one, no matter who else might hate it. So in his appreciation, he cut it, put the whip cream on top and served us both.

Yes my grandson can be very thoughtful. I was glad that we went ahead and did it his way. We both had a great time. When he talks I listen, and he seems to appreciate that a lot. Why do I do it, perhaps because when I was young I had a lot to say, but no one ever listened.

It really ended up being one of the best Thanksgivings for the both of us.
Shamefully full, good conversation, kidding, joking and lots of laugher and hopefully -- creating memories that he will be able to carry with him for the rest of his life.

HEY, WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF ME

Warm, Fuzzy Winter Bra Unveiled in Japan

Furry, heated bras may soon appear in some Japanese wardrobes as the country prepares for "Warm Biz" — a nationwide government campaign urging workers to bundle up and save energy on heating this winter.

The Warm Biz Bra, unveiled this week by Tokyo-based underwear maker Triumph International, is lined with material that the company says helps save warmth.

The bra also has removable pads that can be heated in a microwave or hot water — as well as long, furry straps that wrap around the neck like a scarf, and matching shorts.

"Warm Biz lets you add a little fun and chic to office wear, and prevents global warming," Triumph says.

In an attempt to cut energy use, Japan's government has recommended setting thermostats this winter at 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit) for government buildings, and 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) for private companies.

The government said this year's June-August "Cool Biz" campaign — which had bureaucrats and politicians sporting open-collar, short-sleeve shirts to cut down on air conditioning — saved 210 million kilowatt hours, enough to power 720,000 households for a month.

So my boobs and butt will be warm , and my back, arms and legs will be frostbitten. I don't want lumpy boobs. I want smooth boobs and warm clothing all over me.
Besides what guy wants to cop a feel and grab what feels like the hairiest boob in the world.
He will be out the door and gone, before you can say -- Hey , it's just my bra, come back.

WHAT'S IN THE NEWS

It seems that animals were very busy this November and some of them made the news. Here are some of the more popular ones.

Pandas married with city-wide ceremony in Thailand Wed Nov 9

Thailand's northern city of Chiang Mai pulled out the stops.
Five-year-old Chuang Chuang and his four-year-old bride Lin Hui had a cake in their pen but never left the zoo. They were married Wednesday by proxy with a couple in panda costumes parading through the city and going through the traditions of a Chinese wedding ceremony.

Thailand's northern city of Chiang Mai pulled out the stops to throw a traditional Chinese wedding for two giant pandas on loan from China, with the hope that they will consummate their marriage and make some babies soon, local media reported Thursday.

Drunk Moose Invade Swedish Seniors Home By The Associated Press
Sat Nov 12

a retirement home in southern Sweden had to deal with both: A pair of intoxicated moose invaded the premises.

The moose — a cow and her calf — had become drunk over the weekend by eating fermented apples they found outside the home in Sibbhult, said employee Anna Karlsson.

Police managed to scare them off once, but the tipsy mammals returned to get more of the tempting fruits. This time the moose were drunk and aggressive, forcing police to send for a hunter with a dog to make them leave.

Let's go for a swim and try to sober up.

My all time favorite has got to be about the Giraffe.

Wanted: Mate for lovesick giraffe in Mexico park
Fri Nov 11

Keepers of a small menagerie at a Mexican park are looking for a mate for a lovesick giraffe after the 15-foot-tall beast tried to make love to a tree and a garden shed.

The director of Central Park in Ciudad Juarez, south of the border from El Paso, Texas, said on Friday they have been looking since last month for a mate for the five-year-old giraffe, named Modesto.

"He's driving us crazy," Juan Aragones told Reuters in a telephone interview. "He's mounted a tree, a fence and even a shed."

The giraffe, has never had a sexual partner.

IT'S A WHAT FOUND IN ARGENTINA

135-million-year-old crocodile found in Argentina

Here is the computer image of a marine crocodile, whos remains were found in Buenos Aires. With flipper-like feet and a tail like those found on fish, the crocodile is believed to have been about 12 feet (4 meters) long.

It had a high snout, unlike the long, thin snouts found on many of today's crocodiles and large sharp teeth.
Scientists are calling the beast "Godzilla." Its discovery will be highlighted in the December issue of National Geographic.

Actually found by a group of farmers who were smart enough to realize they had found something special, but of course the palaeontologists will get the credit for being able to identify it.

I for one, strongly believe that things that once existed long ago could still possibly exist in some remote places of today. I believe in the possiblity of the Lockness Monster, the Abominable Snowman and yes, even the possiblity of Aliens.
You know we still have many, many remote avenues which pretty much have yet to be explored. Remote mountains, thick dense jungles, and who knows what still lurks -- under the sea?

Here's a thought -- where do fairytales come from, are they totally fiction?

If a prehistoric crocodile can have features of both a crocodile and a fish, why couldn't a prehistoric horse have wings??

Is it possible that there once was such a thing as a Pegasus or a Unicorn?

Am I a dreamer? I suppose I am, but what a wonderful way to live. I feel sorry for those people who are so practical that they can't take the time to dream a little.

Think about it.

I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOUR TABBY

Millionaire tabby becomes Canada's richest cat

Fri Nov 4, 3:14 PM ET

A lifelong bachelor who amassed a fortune by living reportedly simply left all his money to his cat after his death.

According to the Ottawa Citizen David Harper, the shy and somewhat reclusive owner of Red the cat, died in March at the age of 79, but left an estate worth 1.3 million dollars (1.1 million US) to his beloved tabby.

The United Church of Canada will administer the funds, in accordance with Harper's will, and be responsible for the three-year-old cat's care, feeding and veterinarian bills for the rest of its life, the newspaper reported.

Harper worked most of his life as a gardener in public service.

I'm speechless all I can think of is --- PURRRRRRRRRRRR

I just had a thought, who gets the money if somthing happens to the cat -- Oh, run kitty run!

HELLOOO - I AM NOT AN EMT

Well I must say yesterday was interesing. My daughter is an EMT. Lately she has been working two jobs at two different stations so she has little time for anything else. Yesterday, she was at least working at the one close to home. She had left her car with me in case I wanted to
use it instead of my old truck. She wasn't suppose to get off until 8pm but since there was nothing of any great urgency they let her off early, so just a little before 3pm, she called and said Mom come and get me. I picked her up and the plan was pick up her son from school, stop at the store, home for rest.
Traffic was really heavy. Just as we have the store in view my daughter says "Oh shit", I looked up to see there had been an accident. No ambulance or police were in sight which told us it had just happened. So she pulls up in the parking lot parallel to the wrecked vehicles and we see a women, sitting upright with the door opened. She appeared to be awake . My daughter, still in uniform jumps out of the car and runs over to see if everyone was alright. I am on the passenger side of the womans vehicle in my daughters car, but I can see my daughter on the other side rip out her phone so I knew the women was hurt and she was calling the ambulance. After a couple of seconds of assessing the women I see her moving her hand and I thought she was motioning for me to come, but I thought nope, then I see her eyes bug out of her head like, if you don't move it I'm going to kill you and I give her one of those 'are you talking to me' looks as I jump out of the car tell my grandson stay with the car and I get over there fast.

Buy the way the scene of the accident looked like this, there was a big tanker truck stopped in the outside lane with a white pickup with a towbar on the front turned sideways very close to the tanker and the womans white van on the inside lane. They were all just really close together. The tanker truck wasn't in the wreck but the driver felt like he had caused it and stayed where he was until the police came. So anyway as I get to the other side of the ladys van I noticed how badly it was bashed in (I thougt it was going to be a little fender bender), then I look up--what do I see-- Oh lord, my-bother-in-law. Oh shit, I whisper, did you do this? uhha, my first wreck too. I turned to my daughter and she said I need for you to climb in the back seat and hold her head still so that she won't move her neck . O.K., but none of the other doors would open. The woman is elderly, awake, calm and lucid, you couldn't have asked for a better patient. As I'm pulling on another door to see if I can get one open the ambulance drives up and here comes the police so that lets me off the hook at this point I know the best thing I can do for them is to get out of the way and let them do their job.
So that's exactly what I did. I went back to keep my grandson company. The medic finds a way into the van, I didn't see him get in but when I turned around his big self was trying to climb around in the van to help the woman and get her out. The three of them finally get her out onto a stretcher and strap her head down so that she can't move her neck untel they can assess her neck at the hospital.
Boy when they did that, I could see my bother-in-law just about to come unglued. It scared him to death. The ambulance took off and my daughter was free to go, but we decided to stay with my brother-in-law until he was free to go. He appeared calm but he wasn't. He just kept saying Oh please let her be alright. Over an over. We took a look at his truck and he said he didn't care about his truck and he didn't care who was right or wrong he just wanted her to be O.K. and he'd buy her a new van. We kept telling him she would be just fine. My daughter explained that the worst thing that it looked like she had was a bump on the head , but that anytime someone is thrust foreword and has a bump on the head it is just a precaution to stabilize the head. It didn't seem to help him a bit. Seeing her that way upset him, so we decided to stay with him. It's a good thing that we didn't leave him beacuse when they asked him for his registration and insurance papers, he went and grabbed everything that was in his glove box and said he could'nt read without his glasses and he didn't have them with him so I had to fill out the accident report for him. Whoopy an accident report, hmm. Finally his son showed up and took over for us and we said our good-byes.

The two people on the ambulance service are the owners, I am proud to say the three of them did a great job and worked well together. After all, the other two are also like my own children the woman grew up with my daughter. I've known her since she was about 6.

The police were great we also all know each other. It's a pretty small towm. One of the police got in the same trap that my daughter did he was off duty but still in uniform and he just happened upon it all. I told them both that's what they get for running around town in uniform, so he began to rank off his tie as he said not me I'm getting out of it right now. I said do you need a drum roll, just how much are you going to take off. He grinned. Hahaha

WHAT TREE DID YOU FALL FROM

Find your birthday and then find your tree. This is really cool and
somewhat
accurate, also in line with Celtic astrology. Then send it to all your
friends, including the one that sent it to you, so they can find out what
tree they fell from, but don't forget to change the subject line to your
tree.
